Air Quality During Wildfires
Webcam at Lac Le Jeune August 10, 2026 The Lac Le Jeune area is experiencing some smoke from wildfires in the Okanagan and the canyon. However, the air quality is often considerably better than Kamloops or Merritt due to the altitude (1280 meters). There are two webcams in the area where you can see the current conditions as the air quality maps and weather apps do not always have accurate information for the area. Annual campfire ban is in place until further notice
Effective at 12 p.m. (noon) Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) on Friday, July 10, 2026 Category 1 campfires will be prohibited throughout the Kamloops Fire Centre to help prevent human-caused wildfires and protect public safety. This campfire prohibition will remain in effect until October 9, 2026 at 12 p.m. (noon) PDT, or until the orders are rescinded. A map of the affected area is available here.
